Company Background / Philosophy
Natural Emphasis was founded in 1995 with a focus on environmentally friendly, people friendly products, and deals primary with hemp products. We believe that hemp represents a great opportunity to pursue a path of economic development that is both economically and environmentally sustainable and contributes to a higher quality of life for all. We have been actively involved in researching hemp, disseminating information and challenging common misconceptions about hemp since 1994.

The Economic Paradox
Continuous economic growth requires continuous growth in consumption which can only be achieved through either increases in per capita consumption and/or increases in the number of consumers. Such growth leads to increases in material wealth and comforts in the short term, but is inherently unsustainable. Current consumption patterns have already resulted in, and continue to cause serious environmental degradation, yet decreasing consumption patterns will inevitably lead to prolonged global economic recession or depression. Thus our quality of life depends on the paradox of continuously expanding and contracting consumption of limited resources.

The Challenge
To maintain or encourage economic prosperity without depleting finite natural resources and without causing environmental degradation. In other words, to enable a sustainable economy.

Vision
Business must take on the role of stewards to effect such sustainable change. Natural Emphasis is dedicated to sourcing and developing more sustainable products and practices and will continue to leverage knowledge, innovation and technology to develop ever more sustainable practices.
