WHY 'ENDURANCE BAR'?

A wide variety of terms are used for nutritious snack bars. Some of the most common are energy bars, nutrition bars, and meal supplement bars. The most common of these 'energy bars' has become a description whose meaning has been seriously eroded over time. In some jurisdictions (Canada, for example) the only criteria a bar must meet to be considered an energy bar is that it has at least 100 calories per serving. As a result many 'candy' bars with very low nutritional value are now promoting themselves as 'energy bars.'

Nutrition bars and meal supplement bars are typically used to denote bars that are to be use in place of a regular meal, often as part of a weight loss program. Fuel bars offer exceptional and well balanced nutrition, but we believe strongly that they should not be eaten in the place of a well balanced, nutritious diet of regular, real food meals. If you happen to be rushing around and have to go without lunch, however, they will certainly be a much more nutritious and satisfying snack than a chocolate bar or a bag of chips.

We call Fuel Bars endurance bars because they are well balance and nutritious and have proven that they perform under the most arduous circumstances for extreme endurance activities: 5 day adventure races through the jungles of the amazon and freezing barrens of the Northwest Territories (they don't melt or freeze) to the harrowing daily routines of working life of all varieties from moms to rock stars.

An added benefit of using only all natural or certified organic ingredients is that Fuel Bars are also naturally well balanced. Again researchers commonly agree that a balanced diet consists of about 55-60% carbohydrate, 25-30% fat, and 15% protein. Despite the fact that Fuel Bars are made from a recipe, not formulated in a lab this is the balance found in every Fuel Bar.
